Math Fact Masters – 3rd Grade (WEEK 1)

Math facts will be the focus of this engaging camp. Students will use manipulatives, learning centers, games, and technology to practice addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. The children will create their own learning centers to bring home at the end of the week. Daily use of technology including iPads and the promethean board will strengthen their math fact memorization and understanding.

Interactive Math - Kindergarten-1st Grade (WEEK 1)

Along with creating an Interactive Math Notebook, students will learn about fractions, graphing, money, word problems and more. This is a great class for the reluctant math student as it teaches many math concepts in a fun and interactive way! Children will also use iPads and the Promethean Board to integrate technology into their learning.

Interactive Math – 2nd-3rd Grade (WEEK 1)

Children will also use iPads and the Promethean Board to integrate technology into their learning.

Money and Measurement – Kindergarten (WEEK 2)

Campers will advance their knowledge of monetary value along with addition and subtraction as they “shop” in our classroom store, earn “money” for tasks completed, and play games relating to the value of each coin. They will also advance their measuring skills utilizing the concepts of length, weight, temperature, capacity, and time.

Money and Measurement – 1st-2nd Grade (WEEK 2)

Campers will advance their knowledge of monetary value along with addition and subtraction as they “shop” in our classroom store, earn “money” for tasks completed, and play games relating to the value of each coin. They will also advance their measuring skills utilizing the concepts of length, weight, temperature, capacity, and time.

Measure It Math – 3rd-5th Grade (WEEK 2)

Students will work on story word problems, cut and sequencing activities, as well all the elements of measurement; length, width, height, thickness, size, volume, and time. Children will keep their activities in a Math Journal that will be a great source for continued practice.

Summer Math/Literacy Centers-Create and Take – (K/1st) (2nd/3rd) (4th/5th) (WEEK 8)

Learning centers are one of the most engaging ways for students to learn and practice new concepts. Students will love to use our summer themed centers to practice and reinforce important skills taught throughout the year in both literacy and mathematics. They will work with partners and small teams to play games and learn through having fun with one another. The best part is all the centers the children create will come home for continued learning fun!

Algebra 1 – 6th-8th Grade (WEEK 8)

This course provides the student with the language, models, and logic of Algebra. The class consists of an investigation of different functions, their graphs, and properties. These functions will be used to solve linear equations and inequalities, systems of equations and inequalities as well as radical equations and inequalities. Particular attention will be paid to linear, quadratic, exponential and logarithmic functions. Technology will be an integral part of this class. The TI30XA calculator will be used throughout. During the course students will learn to recognize and express mathematical ideas graphically, numerically, symbolically, and in writing.

Math: Quantitative Reasoning – 4th-5th Grade (WEEK 8)

Students will examine numerous topics that encompass equivalent fractions, order of operations, factors, multiples, prime factorization, operations with numbers, estimation, and fluent computation. Activity cards, practice sheets, and iPad use will offer well-rounded opportunities for student to learn independently and in peer groups

Operation Computation – Kindergarten (WEEK 10)

This camp will allow students to make hands-on connections to learn addition and subtraction skills. From making their own abacuses to participating in fun math activities using Unifix cubes and special edible treats, campers will have an amazing week learning all about computing and patterns. Competitive races and fun math activities will fully prepare these young mathematicians for the coming school year

Operation Computation – 1st-2nd Grade

Campers will have an amazing week learning all about computing and mathematical patterns in Operation Computation. Campers will master how to estimate, round numbers, master number facts, and they will also be introduced to simple multiplication. They will have the opportunity to add and subtract 3-digit numbers using regrouping. They will create fun stories as they do multi-step word problems and as a grand finale…create their own abacus. The concepts will be taught using fun activities, tools, and surprises.
