Technology

Technology is an important element in our children’s lives and should be formally integrated into learning. Heritage Oak’s Junior Kindergarten through fifth graders learn to type at least 25 words per minute at 90% accuracy as well as demonstrate fluency in major Microsoft Office Applications. This training provides the foundation for a full iPad immersion program where students leverage technology to communicate, collaborate and develop creative thinking skills.

Rounding out the technology training is our Digital Citizenship curriculum which focuses on online etiquette and safety.

The school’s technology infrastructure is designed to enhance communication with parents and students at all grade levels with online grading and online posting of classroom assignments.

Daily interactive experiences are created through the use of our campus-wide, high speed wireless infrastructure along with Promethean interactive white boards in all elementary and middle school classrooms. Preschool and pre-kindergarten students benefit from the use of iPads which are integrated into their daily lessons. A full-time technology coordinator ensures that technology is effectively integrated into the curriculum at all levels.
