Forty-Seven Heritage Oak Students Inducted Into National Junior Honor Society
YORBA LINDA, Calif. (April 5, 2017) – Heritage Oak Private Education is proud to announce that forty-seven of its current students were inducted into the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) this year. This is Heritage Oak’s charter year as a National Junior Honor Society school.
Heritage Oak students which were accepted as part of the NHJSA attended a ceremony held the last week of March where the pillars of selection and membership were explained. Each student was awarded a certificate and received congratulatory comments from administrators.
NJHS’s mission is to provide service to the school and residential community while building character in its members. Students must have a 3.7 GPA to qualify, and submit an essay detailing their current school involvement, volunteerism, service, and why they would make a good representative of the school.
After induction, the work will begin, with students electing officers, forming committees by projects assigned, and maintaining their GPA to avoid probation.
Once students enter high school, they will be eligible as sophomores to join NHS, with similar criteria and processes.
