Wizards and Potions – JK-8th AM Camp

Inspired by the world of Harry Potter, Heritage Oak’s own School of Wizardry headed by Professor Kimmel will feature daily potion classes where campers will learn how science can be mistaken as magic through a series of fun science experiments. Young wizards will be divided into houses and compete for the house cup at the end of camp. Daily owl posts will be delivered, and students will even be able to choose a wand! If you love Harry Potter, fun and science, this camp is for you! Come to learn how to be a wizard!

 

Solar System Science – 2nd-8th AM Camp

Learning about the Solar System has never been so much fun! The students will read passages, use organizers, conduct character studies (Sally Ride and Neil Armstrong), use comprehension and connection activities, participate in a slideshow presentation, complete a planet flip book, and so much more! Many interactive activities using technology will round out this exciting class.

 

New Student Orientation JK-5th AM Camp

This course is required for all students entering Junior Kindergarten & Kindergarten and all NEW students entering First through Fifth Grade at Heritage Oak in Fall, 2022.

 

Literature Study: Change Sings 1st/2nd AM(NEW)

In this stirring, much-anticipated picture book by presidential inaugural poet and activist Amanda Gorman, anything is possible when our voices join together. As a young girl leads a cast of characters on a musical journey, they learn that they have the power to make changes—big or small—in the world, in their communities, and most importantly, in themselves. Lessons will include: making text to self connections, text to world connections, comprehension, compare and contrast, author's purpose, bookmark design, cover art design, and a class mural. 

 

Literature Study: We are Water Protectors 3rd-5th AM(NEW)

Inspired by the many Indigenous-led movements across North America, We Are Water Protectors issues an urgent rallying cry to safeguard the Earth’s water from harm and corruption―a bold and lyrical picture book written by Carole Lindstrom and vibrantly illustrated by Michaela Goade. This camp will allow students to be creative while challenging students to use skills in reading comprehension, story analysis, making predictions, drawing conclusions, and creativity.

 

Theater Camp- Disney's Moana (TWO WEEK CAMP)

Student participants will learn the ins and outs of creating a musical production as they help produce costumes, sets, dances, and songs in this amazing two-week camp! Theatre Camp will be taught by HOPE teacher and alumni,  Miss Kyte. Miss Kyte carries a  degree in art, along with years of experience in theatre. Your young thespians will take away stage confidence, singing skills, dancing skills, the ability to work with other actors, memorization techniques and more as they experience performing for their parents and peers on the final day of this two-day camp.

Sports Nation – JK-8th- PM Camp

Would you child like to learn basic knowledge of many different sports while being in a safe environment with their friends? This class is offered to help students engage in an array of sports all while having a great time being active and working as a team.

 

Masters of Money- JK/K- PM Camp

Campers will advance their knowledge of monetary value along with addition and subtraction as they “shop” in our classroom store, earn “money” for tasks completed, and play games relating to the value of each coin.

 

Money and Measurement – 1st-2nd PM Camp

Campers will advance their knowledge of monetary value along with addition and subtraction as they “shop” in our classroom store, earn “money” for tasks completed, and play games relating to the value of each coin. They will also advance their measuring skills utilizing the concepts of length, weight, temperature, capacity, and time.

 

Measure It Math – 3rd-5th PM Camp

Students will work on story word problems, cut and sequencing activities, as well all the elements of measurement; length, width, height, thickness, size, volume, and time. Children will keep their activities in a Math Journal that will be a great source for continued practice.
