Wizards and Potions – JK-8th AM Camp

Inspired by the world of Harry Potter, Heritage Oak’s own School of Wizardry headed by Professor Kimmel will feature daily potion classes where campers will learn how science can be mistaken as magic through a series of fun science experiments. Young wizards will be divided into houses and compete for the house cup at the end of camp. Daily owl posts will be delivered, and students will even be able to choose a wand! If you love Harry Potter, fun and science this camp is for you! Come to learn how to be a wizard!

Making a Musical – JK-8th AM Camp

Actors and singers of all ages can’t miss Making a Musical! Students will put together a script, select a director and stage manager, and even hold auditions for actors! We will spend the week rehearsing roles, building sets, and creating costumes. On the final day, families will be invited to walk the red carpet and see the world premiere of our camper-written, camper-directed, camper-acted musical! This is the perfect opportunity for students to learn the work and FUN that goes into creating a musical, practice singing and acting, and ultimately, receive the reward of a musical to call their very own. Get ready to take a bow!

Little Kickers- JK-3rd AM Camp (NEW)

Learn the basic skills needed to play soccer in this fun and active class. In Little Kickers, students will learn different soccer drills, offense/defense, kicking, and throw-ins. Students will also play different games that involve gross-motor skills to improve their balance and coordination. Beginners welcome!

Pixar Games and Crafts – JK-3rd AM Camp

Mrs. Lloyd is excited to work with students who love the characters from the “Incredibles”.  Campers will have fun creating and designing their very own “incredible” crafts, participating in super human fitness challenges and getting involved in daily games. Your child will work on developing their flexibility, endurance, and strength in this camp. So, if your child loves to make new friendships and loves team building activities...Get Inspired!!! BE Incredible!

Mission: Save the Garden – JK-3rd AM Camp

Your camper will join with “Crazy Dave” in order to save the Heritage Oak garden! Just like in the popular video game, campers will learn to make their very own pea shooters, fire flowers, and cactus throwers. Strategy, teamwork, and imagination will combine as campers build their very own towns and join either the zombie or plant teams. The ultimate battle will take place the last day of camp—they won’t want to miss it!

Archery – 4th-8th  AM Camp

Due to the success of last year’s session, Mrs. Albano is once again offering a course in the Olympic sport of archery! Campers will be taught the fundamentals of stance, nocking, aiming, and loosing arrows in a fun, safe learning environment. Compound bow mastery, compensating for weather, judging distance and terrain, and mental exercises for clarity and focus will all be covered in this exciting camp.

School Year Prep: Math JK/K AM Camp (NEW)

Students will work on concepts that meet Kindergarten Mathematics Standards; number names, counting in sequence, skip counting, comparing numbers, addition, subtraction, patterning, sorting, place value, measurement, classifying and analyzing objects into categories, gathering and analyzing data, time, money, and compare, create, and compose shapes. 

Math Escape Room 1st-2nd AM Camp (NEW)

Oh no!  Will your student escape in time?   Join Mrs. Prince in interactive games to breakout and escape the classroom.  Students will utilize their critical thinking and team building skills while they work to solve challenging puzzles and clues.  The escape room will strengthen math skills in a fun and interactive way while strengthening the following math concepts: time, money, operations, geometry, place value, and comparing numbers.  Hope the class will escape in time!

School Year Prep: Math 3rd-4th AM Camp (NEW)

Students will work on concepts that meet 3rd and 4th grade Mathematics Standards; multiplication, division, understand and analyze the relationship among numbers, use place value to perform multidigit arithmetic, fractions,  measurement, estimation, represent and interpret data, geometric measurement, time, money, understand and solve statistical and probability problems, and classify shapes by properties of their lines and angles.

Imaginopolis-Build a Nation – JK-8th PM Camp

This summer, we will be creating an entire nation. In this class, each camper will decide the laws and landmarks of his/her very own state, create a flag, and learn about how countries work as we work together to build Imaginopolis 2.0! We will vote on a President, create our own money, and of course, the last day of camp will feature the founding of our country and signing of its constitution! Don't miss this monumental occasion to create, play and learn with Mrs. Bernard in Imaginopolis - Build a Nation!

Basketball – 4th-8th PM Camp

As children grow, athletics become more competitive. This basketball camp provides a great opportunity for a beginning basketball player to learn the skills necessary to be successful in the game. It also provides experienced players with the ability to hone their skills on the court. A focus on basic skills such as dribbling, lay ups, passing, shooting, and defense, along with a variety of drills and mini games will prepare your athlete for basketball season next year! Please send your camper with water and a healthy snack each day.

Princess High Tea JK-3rd PM Camp

A princess is known not only by her beauty, but also how she behaves and follows her heart. In this four-day course, princesses will learn proper table manners, how to set a table, and how to plan the most elegant high tea. Together, our royal court will discuss and decide on menus, entertainment, decorations and more in order to prepare for the end-of-week High Tea for their families.

Reader’s Theater Superstars JK-2nd PM Camp (NEW)

Become a reader’s theater superstar! In this fun and exciting camp, students will strengthen their reading fluency skills by practicing and performing a reader’s theater script. Students will get different roles and work together in groups to work on their expression, eye contact, and presentation skills. They will build their confidence and have fun creating props and backdrops to go with their stories. At the end of the week, their stories will be brought to life for their reader’s theater performance!

Cursive Club – 1st-3rd PM Camp

In this camp, students will practice their cursive penmanship using both uppercase and lowercase letters. This class will focus on proper formation, the connection of the letters, neatness, size, consistency, and the natural slant of cursive lettering. A variety of tools including sand, yarn, crayons, watercolor paint, shaving cream, chalk, and glue will add fun and excitement to the class as students perfect their skills. This camp is most useful for students who have not yet learned how to read or write in cursive as well as students who would like to improve their fine motor skills and penmanship.

Mathematician Party Planning – 1st PM Camp (NEW)

Who doesn't love a great party?  Mrs. Prince is ready to help your child learn real-life skills.  Students will strengthen critical thinking skills by working in a team to host a party.  The students will enjoy purchasing various items with their money.  These real-life math lessons will not only teach adding, subtracting, numbers, and ten frame skills but will also teach beginning budgeting and planning skills.  On the last day of camp, the class will have fun organizing and executing the party they planned!

Storytellers Write On -JK-1st PM Camp

This class will feature an engaging learning environment where students will have the opportunity to practice writing stories, poems, and plays. Children will develop their own written language skills in areas including adjective usage, sentence structure, dialog, and the expression of emotion.

3D Printer Power 4th-8th PM Camp (NEW)

Welcome to the world of 3D printing! In this class, you will learn everything you need to know to design and 3D print your own creations. You'll also learn the ins-and-outs of desktop 3D-printing. With this class and enough practice, you'll be a pro in no time. We will build a 3D printer using Arduino microprocessor and a 3D writing pen.
