The Science of Slime – JK-8th  AM Camp

Do you like to make SLIME? Making slime is not only fun but it is also educational. Is it a solid or a liquid? What is a Non-Newtonian fluid? In this camp we will learn the properties of polymers and explore the science behind making different types of slime. Glow in the dark, Thermochromic, Clay and Sand slime… just to name a few, each slime a new effect! Use critical thinking, math and measuring skills. On the last day campers will develop and make their own unique slime.

POM POM Cheer Squad JK-3rd AM Camp (NEW)

Ready to put some pep in your step and smile with spirit? Join the POM POM cheer squad and learn how to become a talented, athletic student that spreads summer spirit! Camp will include cheers, stunts, basic tumbling, and a Thursday performance for the parents.

Theater Camp- Winnie the Pooh – JK-8th AM Camp- TWO WEEKS

Oh No! Christopher Robin has been captured by the Backson!  Help Pooh Bear and his friends Piglet, Eeyore, Tigger, Kanga, Roo, and Owl rescue their friend. In a fun turn of friendship, teamwork, and sharing snacks, join your favorite Hundred Acre Wood friends in the full musical production of Disney's Winnie the Pooh! Student participants will learn the ins-and-outs of creating a musical production as they learn to memorize lines, dances, and songs in this amazing two-week camp! Theatre Camp will be taught by a HOPE teacher who is passionate about the musical arts. Miss Kyte holds a degree in art education and has 20 years of experience in the theatre. Your young thespians will gain stage confidence, singing skills, dancing skills, the ability to work with other actors, memorization techniques, and more as they experience performing for their parents and peers on the final day of this two-week camp.

Pre-Coding Club – JK-2nd AM Camp

Do you have a child that loves technology and computers? If so, they will LOVE pre-coding club! Not only will students learn the basics of how to use a computer including how to properly use a mouse, home row typing finger placement, and how to open and close programs, they will also begin to understand the concept of coding and learn how to do some basic programming using JavaScript and their favorite characters from Angry Birds, Zombies, Frozen, Star Wars, Minecraft and More!

Stemsational Adventures  JK-8th AM Camp

This week of incredible themed STEM challenges will take students to new heights, literally! We will be exploring all facets of engineering, building, and STEM related creative FUN! Each day will feature a new location and theme which will dictate that day’s challenges. There will be daily rewards for those stretching the limits and showing their creativity. Campers will be amazed at all they’re able to accomplish with a little bit of physics knowledge and a LOT of imagination! Handmade skyscrapers, structures made entirely of food, beautifully built boats, duct tape strength tests, and tons more contests will keep the learning exciting from start to finish! Reading Rocks – JK/K AM Camp

Each day students will read a different story, complete a reading response, and make a fun craft that goes along with the story. Children will spend time deciphering the genre of the text, studying character development, exploring new vocabulary, and sequencing. Students will create a fun work of art each day that expresses an important story element or character.

Children will spend time deciphering the genre of the text, study character development, explore new vocabulary, practice fluency, and discuss comprehension questions. Students will create a fun work of art each day that expresses an important story element or character.

Build a Book– JK-3rd PM Camp 

Inspired by beloved children’s books, this class will allow students to explore the various strategies to deeply understand a literature selection. The story will capture the students’ attention while giving them an opportunity to study story elements, explore character traits, and practice predicting, drawing connections, and making inferences. Students will also participate in various art and writing projects such as making puppets used to recreate the story, designing their own version of the book, and writing the story by hand. Students will also explore the character lessons displayed in the book and learn about respect, fairness, responsibility, caring, and compassion.

Ceramics – 4th-8th PM Camp

Clay, glaze, paint, and new friends will make up this week of creative artistry as campers explore the stages of clay piece production. Did you know that Camp Heritage Oak has its own kiln? This means that as campers decorate their cups, plates, bowls, etc. with paint and glaze, all of their items can be fired on-site and ready to go home and shared with their family members! If your child loves creating pottery projects at mall-type painting stores, he/she will have a fantastic time in this class!

Reduce Reuse Recycle JK-3rd AM Camp (NEW)

Reduce, reuse, and recycle! Let’s go green and help our environment. In this camp, students will learn about the importance of recycling and ways to help our earth. Students will learn more about what materials can be recycled and how to properly recycle by participating in fun recycling activities. Each day, the students will get crafty and create some unique and exciting upcycling projects to take home and enjoy!

Circus and Magic Training Camp JK-8th PM Camp

Are you ready for The Greatest Show? At Mrs. Bernard’s circus and magic training camp, students will learn to be the ultimate performers by mastering illusions, magic, and the great art of circus performance! Making objects disappear, taming (pretend) animals, and jumping through actual hoops are all part of our incredible show! On the last day of camp, our performers and magicians will amaze and dazzle their mommies, daddies, and family members with a circus show for the ages! Don’t miss this chance for your little magician or acrobat to show what they can do at The Greatest Show: Circus & Magic Training!

School Year Prep: Math JK/K PM Camp (NEW)

Students will work on concepts that meet Kindergarten Mathematics Standards; number names, counting in sequence, skip counting, comparing numbers, addition, subtraction, patterning, sorting, place value, measurement, classifying and analyzing objects into categories, gathering and analyzing data, time, money, and compare, create, and compose shapes. 

School Year Prep: Math 1st-2nd PM Camp (NEW)

Students will work on concepts that meet 1st and 2nd grade Mathematics Standards; numerical sequencing, understand and analyze the relationship among numbers, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, place value, basic fractions, measurement, collect, organize, and analyze data, time, money, and understand geometric principles. 

School Year Prep: Math 3rd-4th PM Camp (NEW)

Students will work on concepts that meet 3rd and 4th grade Mathematics Standards; multiplication, division, understand and analyze the relationship among numbers, use place value to perform multidigit arithmetic, fractions,  measurement, estimation, represent and interpret data, geometric measurement, time, money, understand and solve statistical and probability problems, and classify shapes by properties of their lines and angles.
