The Art and Science of Being Human- JK-2nd AM Camp (NEW)

Investigate the inner workings of the amazing human body! Uncover the beauty of brains and bones with creative art techniques using ordinary objects in extraordinary ways. Build a replica of a human lung or digestive tract and engineer ways to keep a human body safe. Get your own body moving with fun team challenges

World Travelers Passport Adventure- JK-2nd AM Camp (NEW)

Come travel the world as we explore the seven continents through cultural crafts, music, language, maps and food. Learn about different countries and cultures with hands-on fun!

Super Hero Sports – JK-3rd AM Camp

Young Superheroes will have the time of their lives participating in such sports as Captain America Ball, Flash Speed Racing, X-Men Training Tag, Spiderman Soccer, Deadpool Dodgeball, Batman Baseball, and more! They will take place in an Ironman Fitness Challenge where they will have a chance to show their power and strength. This camp, taught by Heritage Oak’s long-time P.E. teacher and coach, will be a fantastic opportunity for your child to stay active over the summer in an exciting, creative, encouraging environment. Athletic shoes and water are required each day.

Solar System Science – 2nd-5th AM Camp

Learning about the Solar System has never been so much fun! The students will read passages, use organizers, conduct character studies (Sally Ride and Neil Armstrong), use comprehension and connection activities, participate in a slideshow presentation, and complete a planet flip book, and so much more! Many interactive activities using technology will round out this exciting class.

MS Orchestra – 6th-8th AM Camp (Heritage Oak Students Only)

This class will prepare current orchestra students for the upcoming school year. Students will work in an ensemble with multiple instruments and sections. They will learn new techniques with their respective instruments and focus as a group on music theory, music history, listening and aural skills, music notation, and new music terms.  The camp will conclude with a video recording which will be submitted to Disneyland for a festival audition. Students interested in attending the festival during the school year must be in the audition video.

Pre-Algebra 5th-8th AM Camp

Students entering grades 5th-8th are invited to attend our pre-algebra camp. They will learn and practice early pre-algebra skills and be exposed to advanced pre-algebra concepts.

Read and Sequence – JK/K AM Camp

This class will focus on engaging the student while working on comprehension, fluency and building confidence. Each story will provide students with a genuine opportunity to practice reading short stories they can decode with phonics skills and sight word recognition. This class is ideal for the struggling reader or beginning reader as the stories will provide work in the foundation of reading though phonics and sight words.

Intensive School Year Prep – JK/K FULL-DAY CAMP

This is a rigorous one-week session from 9:00am-4:00pm. Through this positive academic environment, students will thrive and become prepared for Heritage Oak’s content for the upcoming school year which exceeds public school standards by one full academic year. The focus will be on skills in reading, writing, and math. Students may be moved to another School Year Prep class at the discretion of the administration  to ensure a positive and productive learning experience. Parents will be notified of any changes.

Intensive School Year Prep – 1st FULL-DAY CAMP

This is a rigorous one-week session from 9:00am-4:00pm. Tech Week 6th-8th PM (Heritage Oak Students Only)

Inventor’s Workshop- JK-2nd PM Camp (NEW)

Inventors are problem solvers and so are you! Join us for a fun-filed week of tinkering, building, and problem solving as we learn about famous inventors and the steps they took to achieve success. Our workshop will be busy as we open up various appliances and machines to see how they work. We will also create a few of our own inventions. Your young inventor will learn how to make his/her own batteries and experiment with simple circuits.

Ultimate Unicorn Camp- JK-3rd PM Camp (NEW)

Always be yourself unless you can be a unicorn, then always be a unicorn! Join us for a magical week of fun-filled crafts and activities such as making unicorn slime, unicorn jewelry, and unicorn paintings.

Sitting in the Director’s Chair – 3rd-8th PM Camp

Has your child ever wanted to make his or her own movie or YouTube video? This class will teach campers the basics of developing, shooting, and editing a video from start to finish using iMovie. Campers will also learn how to create photo collages, import music, and create sound effects as they work toward the final day of camp where they will premiere their movie for all to see!

Stem Superstars – 1st-5th PM Camp

STEM is the combination of science, technology, engineering, and math—and it’s a great cross-curricular way to learn! What is the best way to build a structure out of spaghetti noodles that can support the weight of a marshmallow? How can we make a marble continually flow through a roller coaster made of drinking straws? These engineering challenges and more will be explored in this exciting, hands-on class! Students will complete many different building challenges throughout the week to learn about concepts such as inertia, structural support, gravity, buoyancy and more!

Phonics and Writing – JK/K PM Camp

Increase your child’s phonics and writing skills with hands-on activities. Students will strengthen phonics skills through fun-filled songs and center-based peer activities. Children will practice vowel sounds, consonant sounds, and blends each day as well as participating in spelling practice. Children will create their own sight word flash cards throughout the week, which will come home on the last day for continued practice over the summer. Journal prompts will expose children to creative writing as well as learning how to write complete sentences.
