Our environment is designed to foster the academic, communication, social and interpersonal skills needed to help students become leaders in our community.
Our philosophy at Heritage Oak is to develop the whole child. We offer our students a well-rounded education that also includes music, Spanish, French, art, physical education, computer skills, technology and etiquette. Our goal is to graduate students who are knowledgeable about the world and who are ready to take the lead toward a successful future.
We utilize various communications tools such as individualized Personal Learning Plans, an online grade and homework portal, a custom mobile app, our online photo gallery, and weekly teacher emails to keep our parents connected to our school environment and aware of what is happening in the classroom.
Our campuswide family events such as our Trunk or Treat Event and Welcome Back Family Fun Festival foster a loving, tight-knit, family community. This web site contains a variety of materials that will help you better understand our program and our philosophy.

Head of School
Heritage Oak was founded in 1966 as a small preschool dedicated to offering a balance between strong academics and character education through teaching in the Carden tradition. The original preschool soon grew to include the elementary grades, and by the late 1980’s, the original eight classroom facility located in had seen its best years. In 1992, Phyllis Cygan, along with her husband, Greg, purchased the school and relocated it into a wholly remodeled former banking complex in Yorba Linda in 1995. The school’s name was changed to Heritage Oak Private School to reflect the new vitality and increase in scope as the school expanded. Most recently, Heritage Oak became a part of Spring Education Group.
